Job Purpose

To manage and retain a portfolio of mainly personal lines with some small commercial clients. You will be highly responsive to clients’ needs, providing a personalized service that fosters trustworthiness and maintains client loyalty and encourages further business growth.


Roles and Responsibilities

These are the key responsibilities of the job:

New Business

  • To provide support to new customers, assessing their needs, escalating should their needs be complex.
  • To gather information from the client regarding the risk, stressing the importance of full disclosure, claims history, etc. Assessing the client’s needs may necessitate visiting them and/or researching their risk/requirements.
  • To work with other team members and senior members of the team on larger more complex risks to win the business,

Provide quotations/renewal of policies

  • To advise on options and current market conditions; this may be possible over the phone but may also require you to visit the client to understand the risk or any changes.
  • To start the renewal process in a timely manner continuing to inform the client when necessary and ensure that all documentation is updated and available on the system.
  • To maintain a relationship with insurers that supports a partnership that is to the benefit of the client. You will advocate on behalf of the client and this may include visiting insurers for relationship building or conflict resolution if necessary.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of various insurance products, ensuring the ability to tailor appropriate solutions for clients.
  • To work with other team members and senior members of the team on the larger more complex renewal business

Document/Information Management

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely production of all documentation relating to renewals, new business and mid-term adjustments.
  • Ensure all documentation is uploaded in a timely manner to Acturis / client files and is presented in a way that ensures effective information sharing within the team.
  • Being aware of regulations and the company policy on Compliance, ensuring that all relevant documentation is obtained from the client to satisfy the legal and internal requirements.

Client Billing and Ongoing Client Relations

  • Responsible for invoicing the client in a timely and accurate manner, working closely with the accounts team to assist with accounts receivable by communicating creditor terms and chasing clients for payments if and when necessary.
  • To be aware where you can add value to the client– assisting with filling in forms, highlighting changes in premium or coverage, communicating relevant changes to the market, etc.
  • To maintain relationships with clients and ensure effective risk management by providing regular check-ins and reviews to risk, including in person visits prior to renewal if required.
  • Claims management – to be the initial point of contact for your client in the event of a claim including visiting the claim site if need and follow through with claims team on outcome.

Team support/General duties

  • As a member of a small team you will be required to support team members by providing ad-hoc service/support to clients that are not in your ‘book’. You will also be required to assist senior members of the team with major commercial lines/projects.
  • You will be expected to share information, engage in team meetings etc. to ensure that the team is updated on any relevant issues/concerns to enable effective communication with the client in your absence. You will also be required to acknowledge any issues with clients that are not in your book so that you can effectively support that client should it be needed.

In addition to the above you may also be asked to complete any other related or reasonable duties.

 

Knowledge and Qualifications Required

Educated to University level  X
Higher/further education in insurance procedures/practices  X
Experience of working in the insurance industry  X
Experience of working in a customer facing role, providing administrative support to the customer, developing long-term relationships rather than transitory ones X
